How to fold a tent easily
We discussed 5 different kinds of tents to be folded
Folding pop up tent:
Step 1: Fold the top two poles together
Now that your tent is standing in front of you, grasp both of the poles on top of the tent together, and pull them.
Step 2: Fold the bottom two poles together
You can now see that the bottom poles of the tent are sticking out to your left and right. Grab them and fold up and over to the top poles, so that you re holding all four of the poles together.
Keep the tent door open to let out the air.
Step 3: Stand the tent up on its side:
The folded tent will look like a taco. Flip the tent onto its side by holding onto the four poles and move it so that the open side of the taco shape rests against the ground.
Step 4: Fold the top poles:
Holding the four poles together reach out to the uppermost part of your tent by stretching your hand. Now grab the back of the taco shape and bring it down to your other hand. Flatten the tent.
Step 5: Slide it halves together:
Now that your tent looks like two side by side circles, then bring one circle over the other.
Step 6: Seal the tent in a bag:
Slip the tent quickly into its bag to pack it, otherwise, pop-up tents tend to spring back into the shape of a tent.
Folding a beach tent:
Now what you have to do is stand facing the entrance of your tent and grab both the side of the tent. Don’t forget to keep the door open.
By pulling one side of the tent towards the center, push it flat against the ground. And holding it down, bring the other side over the top of it making an oval shape.
Flip over the tent on its edge and push down on the center of this edge. The tent will make an ‘8’ shape.
Now pick up one side of the tent and bring it over onto the other side making a circle.
Wrap the tent with the elastic band, if it came with one and put the tent in its bag and zip it.
Folding a dome tent:
Remove all the tent’s pegs and placed them in their bag.
Take the poles out of the fly and fold them up into their bag
Lay the flysheet out on the inside floor of the tent as flat as possible
Keep all the doors of the tent open for making sure all the air escapes.
Remove all the tents poles and keep them in their bag.
Ensure that the tent is within the main edges and making a square containing the flysheet and tent. Lie the pole bag against the tent. Now take one edge and fold it so that the fold is in line with the edge of the tent’s pole bag. Do the same by taking the other end. Now you should have a rectangular shape
Remove all the air from the tent and flattened it
Placing the pole bag at one end of the tent, roll the tent around it tightly.
Once rolled is finished tie it with a rope around each end.
Put the rolled tent in its bag.
Folding a cabin tent:
After cleaning the tent, remove all the stakes from the ground
Remove all the poles from the body of the tent
Lay the tent flat on the ground. Ensure if it is either a rectangle or square. If it comes with flywheel, then place it within the shape this shape
After flattened the tent, fold it in half
Now, fold the tent again.
Check the storage sack against the tent. If it is the same or just longer than the short edge of the folded tent, then you are good to go. If it is longer then fold it again.
Now fold one-third of the tent over itself
Lay the tent and begin rolling
Tie the rolled tent securely
Place the tent in its bag.
Folding a tent with a separated fly:
Lay the fly flat and then fold it lengthwise so that the outside is inside the fold. Now fold each end of the fly in a way that they touch the closest support and continue to fold in toward the center. After the center is reached, fold it again. Start rolling tightly from the top the fly, the thinnest part, and then tie it up.
Lay out the tent keeping the front door at the top and make sure all the zips are done. Pull the canopy using the center roof mounts being clips or tubes for the support rods, so that it lays flat.
If your tent features a front or rear vestibules then fold them over so that they lay flat over the tent’s body.
Fold each side of the tent into the middle and then again fold it over so that it becomes a quarter of its original width.
Now lay everything including the fly closet, poles, and pegs. At first roll in the fly, then the poles and roll again, then the pegs and roll the tent again. Try to keep the tent tie and after rolling is finished fit the tent in its bag.
